ACME Brains, Inc. is a Seattle-based AI company building private, personalized AI software. Founded by Mary Jesse, Alan Caplan, and Bob Bergstrom, the company's core product is nexie: a private personal AI that keeps your identity and data yours.

ACME Brains, Inc. is headquartered in Seattle, WA, USA.
Today's AI systems are powerful, but they profit from your personal data. Every conversation you have with ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar tools may be stored, reviewed, and used to train models. ACME Brains builds software that lets you benefit from AI without that tradeoff.
nexie is a private, personal AI built by ACME Brains. It gives you access to the world's best AI models without exposing your identity, profiling your behavior, or selling your data. Think of it as a private gateway to powerful AI.
ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are AI model providers. They generate great responses, but they also collect data about their users. nexie is a privacy-first layer that routes your queries through those same powerful models without your personal identity or context being exposed to them. You get the intelligence without the surveillance.
nexie's Personal Context Engine is a proprietary system that privately stores your thoughts, journals, preferences, and past conversations, then surfaces relevant context when you need it. Unlike cloud chat history, it is designed around your ownership and control, not a platform's data strategy.

Yes. nexie's privacy architecture makes it well-suited for enterprise environments where sensitive data, client confidentiality, and regulatory compliance are critical. Contact us to discuss enterprise deployments.
nexie acts as a private intermediary between you and AI model providers. Your personal identity is never passed to underlying models. Your conversations, preferences, and context stay on systems you control, and your data is never sold or used to train third-party models without your consent.
LLM data leakage is the unintended exposure of personal or sensitive information through interactions with large language model AI systems. When you type a prompt into a public AI tool, that input may be stored, reviewed, and used to train future models. nexie is designed to prevent this. Learn more about LLM leakage →
No. ACME Brains does not use your personal data to train AI models without your explicit consent. Your data is never sold to third parties. Zero. Ever.
Yes. nexie is built on the principle that your data belongs to you. You can export your data, delete it, or keep it entirely offline. You are always in control.
Data ownership in AI means you have meaningful control over your personal information: how it is stored, who can see it, how it is used, and the right to delete it permanently. Most AI platforms currently treat your data as an asset they own. ACME Brains is built on the opposite principle. Read more about data ownership →
